It's been a while since I've written. I am really bad at keeping a journal online. I used to do pen and paper journals. But I guess my life isn't all that interesting to have stuff to write about every day.
Lately been reading once again after a long obsession with Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Such a great game. I've logged too many hours as it is. Just finished reading Goodkind's Wizards First Rule since the tv series started and got me intrigued. The previews was more intriguing than the actual episode. So many different changes from the book. It might have been different if I hadn't read the book before watching the tv episode. Oh well.
Seems like we haven't gamed in a while. We just did 2 sessions of gaming for the testing of Dresden Files. It was pretty good. I enjoy the world of Harry Dresden. Playing a magical character is fun. There is just a lot of tweaking that needs to be done. I am interested in playing the AD&D 4.0 version. My gf is interested but Stacey is dead set against it. Oh well.
I just did a little bit of writing for a friend who wanted me to share an experience for her Masters paper on Memory. She was surprisingly impressed at my writing for some reason. I have always dreamt of doing writing for more than just personal fun and doing something serious. Also reading really good books always inspires one to want to write.
Currently on the latest of the Dresden Files: Small Favor. Stacey was a pal and stole it back from friends of ours whom he had loaned the book to. Pretty good so far.
My book choice for our book club is up. Moorcock has been a major influence in my childhood development and the development of my personality growing up. The Elric series most especially. I've always regarded the series as just a wonderful fantasy series. Now I'm going to get a fresh take on how this series is percieved. So far my gf finds it to be a different take on fantasy. I guess it is. I definitely have a different take on things sometimes.
I am glad that Obama won the election. He's got his work cut out for him though. It will be interesting to see if he will be able to affect change. Right now, the market is down again. I guess we are officially in a recession. Personally, I think we are in a Depression. My career is on a flatline. Not learning anything new and its just been really a ship that is foundering and trying not to take in more water as we are bailing. But with the ugly market out there, looking for a new job or new career isn't hopeful in it's prospects. Seems that I have just been living in such a state of despair when it comes to my career that I no longer sweat too much about it and the anxiety of it all is just always there.
